Types of Therapies We Provide
At ELD Psychology, we understand that each person’s mental health journey is unique, so we offer a range of therapeutic approaches to suit individual needs. Some of the therapies we have experience in include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): A widely researched approach, CBT helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours contributing to their distress.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): This approach encourages clients to accept their experiences and commit to values-driven actions, helping them manage difficult emotions and live more fulfilling lives.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Using mindfulness techniques, this therapy supports clients in developing greater self-awareness and coping strategies to manage stress and anxiety.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): DBT is highly effective in treating emotional regulation issues and is particularly helpful for clients dealing with borderline personality disorder.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E): CBT-E is a specialised, evidence-based form of cognitive-behavioral therapy designed specifically to treat a range of eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and other disordered eating patterns. CBT-E focuses on helping individuals identify and modify dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors related to food, body image, and self-worth. Through tailored strategies, CBT-E empowers clients to develop healthier attitudes toward eating and self-image.
Schema Therapy: Schema therapy is an integrative, evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals identify and change deeply ingrained patterns, or "schemas," formed in early life that may be contributing to present-day emotional difficulties and problematic behaviors. This approach combines elements of cognitive, behavioral, and experiential therapies, focusing on breaking negative cycles and meeting core emotional needs in a healthier way. Through Schema Therapy, clients can develop more adaptive thinking patterns and behaviors, ultimately achieving greater emotional resilience and a stronger sense of self.
Our team is dedicated to working collaboratively with clients to determine the most suitable therapeutic approach based on their goals, preferences, and mental health needs.
